[Fantasy Ending] Chainsaw Man: Reze Chapter - Fujimoto Tatsuki's
fantasy novel : Denji 's fictional side story: It's not illegal to imagine in
your head - Denji's imagination of marrying Reze in his head
At the
top of Makima's tower, constructed of pure white reason and the will to
dominate, Denji remained kneeling like a stone sculpture. Sunlight streamed
through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating his golden hair , making him
appear sacred and serene. Makima sat beside him, perusing thick books about
ancient civilizations, occasionally sipping her red tea and savoring the
absolute tranquility brought by this "perfect work."
However,
in Denji 's mind, which was considered to have been "cleaned up," a
grand, colorful, and absolutely "illegal" fantasy was burning like a
wildfire.
This is
a wedding planned in my head.
1. The Hall of Dreams: Ruins Where Gunfire No
Longer Strikes
Denji
's consciousness, the memories of that charred, abandoned chemical plant and
the stench of blood were repainted by his imagination.
It was
a small chapel nestled by the sea, its wooden pews covered in tender green moss
and unidentified wildflowers. There were no guests, no Makima's watchful eye,
and even the lingering, putrid smell of death had been washed away by the sea
breeze. The air was filled with a warm aroma, like freshly baked bread mixed
with cheap lattes.
Denji
found himself wearing a black suit that didn't fit him quite right, with his
tie askew. He stood nervously before the altar, his hands constantly rubbing
against his thighs, his palms sweating profusely. This wasn't the cold sweat
from preparing for battle, but a kind of anxiety called "happiness"
that made him feel like his blood vessels were about to burst.
" Denji-kun
, you look really stupid today ."
A
cheerful voice came from the entrance of the auditorium.
2. Lei Jie's bridal pose: a combination of
bombshell and white veil.
Dianzhi
held his breath and turned his head away.
Leijie
stood in the sunlight by the door. She wasn't wearing the black fuse ribbon;
instead, she wore a simple and light pure white wedding dress. The fabric was
somewhat worn, with a few unwashed stains along the edges, resembling coffee
marks, but in Dianzhi 's eyes, it was the most magnificent garment in the
world.
Her
long hair wasn't tied up , but rather casually draped over her shoulders,
swaying gently in the sea breeze. She walked barefoot on the wooden floor, the
black ribbon he had secretly kept in the laboratory still tied around her
ankle.
Instead
of a bouquet of flowers, Leijie was holding a can of his favorite coffee, which
was still emitting cold air.
"Although
it's not illegal to imagine in your head, it costs money to imagine me looking
this beautiful in a wedding dress." Leijie tilted her head , her deep and
wild eyes now filled with honey-like tenderness.
In his
imagined world, Yodo felt his heart — the heart that Makima had once held in
her hand and wantonly ravaged—beating at a frenzied rhythm.
3. An Illegal Vow: A Promise Between Coffee
and the Rest of My Life
They
stood side by side before the altar. There were no priests, no gods, for in Dekichi
's mind, he was the only true God.
" Denji-kun
, do you want to exchange vows with me?" Reige asked softly.
"A
vow... What is that? Can you eat it ?" Denji grinned foolishly, but tears
welled up in his eyes.
"You
have to promise me that from today onwards, your mind will only contain me. No
Miss Makima, no those boring orders, and no those painful missions."
Rachel reached out and gently hooked her finger around Dianzhi 's tie, pulling
him closer. "We're going somewhere where nobody knows us. We're going to
sleep in every day, we're going to school for extra lessons, we're going to the
movies to watch those utterly boring romance movies until we fall asleep …
"
"I
promise you," Yodo interrupted her impatiently, his voice hoarse and
trembling. "I'll promise you anything. Whether it's going to school,
eating sushi, or going to that ... countryside you mentioned . As long as
you're there, even if I can only drink expired coffee every day, I'll feel like
a king."
Leijie
smiled . She pulled the tab on the coffee can.
"Click."
That
crisp sound triggered a silent explosion in Denji 's mind. It wasn't a destructive
explosive, but a shockwave called "hope." In his imagination, they
were kissing. There was no domination, no chains, only their overlapping
breaths and that real, heart-wrenching body heat.
4. The Ashes of Reality and the Eternal
Secret
In
reality , Denji 's lips curled into an extremely subtle smile, so subtle that
even Makima couldn't detect it.
Makima
turned a page and glanced indifferently at Dianzhi . She thought she controlled
every nerve and every memory of this boy. She thought his mind was a silent
wilderness.
Little
did she know that beneath that body she considered worthless, a most lavish and
illegitimate wedding ceremony was taking place, one that was enough to
overthrow the entire system of domination.
In that
dream, Yodo held Rei tightly in his arms . He knew it was just an illusion. He
knew that as long as he opened his eyes, he would still be that plaything
kneeling on the cold floor.
But he
didn't care.
Because
imagining things in your mind is not illegal.
Because
as long as this wedding keeps replaying in her mind, as long as Rachel is still
smiling at him in that seaside church, Makima can never truly have him.
He
secretly gave that false god a cruel sneer.
"Miss Makima, you killed my reality, but I gave Rae a future
you couldn't enter ."
Deep
within his mind, Denji and his bride walked hand in hand toward the beach where
darkness would never fall. There, the pull ring was no longer the fuse of the
chainsaw , but the only proof of their exchange of happiness.
