[Fantasy Ending] Chainsaw Man: Reze Chapter - Fujimoto Tsuki's Fantasy Novel : Makima and Denji 's Fictional Paradise

[Fantasy Ending] Chainsaw Man: Reze Chapter - Fujimoto Tatsuki's fantasy novel : Denji's fictional side story: It's not illegal to imagine in your head - The battle in Denji's head

4. Unnatural sluggishness

Inside the real white tower, time seems like a gel solidified in amber.

Makima gracefully brought a bright red strawberry to her lips —a top-grade fruit imported from the outside world, carrying a sweet aroma. She slightly turned her head to look at Denji, who was still kneeling beside her . In her perception, Denji was a fully calibrated instrument with perfect data.

" Denji-kun , could you pass me that knife over there ?"

This is an extremely simple command. Under the control of the system, Denji 's nerves should react within a fraction of a second of receiving the sound waves, and her arm should precisely pick up the knife and hand it to her like a precise hydraulic rod .

However, a sense of incongruity arose.

Denji 's fingers trembled slightly. It wasn't a smooth movement, but a sluggish one , like rusty gears struggling to turn. His hand hovered in mid-air for about 0.5 seconds as it reached for the knife.

That 0.5-second pause sounded deafening in the silent tower.

5. "Interference sources" in the brain

Makima's eyes narrowed slightly , and her hand holding the strawberry stopped in mid-air.

Unbeknownst to her, at that moment , the afterimage of Reze was frantically interfering with the system in Denji's mind. Every time Makima issued a command, Reze 's provocative laughter would echo deep within Denji's consciousness .

" Denji-kun , slow down. Don't become an obedient dog so quickly ."

In the simulated battle within her mind, Reze was pulling the fuse, and the massive explosion caused severe "signal interference" in the brain's transmission pathways. The afterimages of the explosion caused a gap in Denji 's reactions in reality.

He was resisting. Although that resistance was as weak as a sandcastle against a tsunami, that **"unnatural sluggishness"** was a crack in the system of domination.

6. Synchronization rate of fracture

Denji finally grasped the knife . But his movements were clumsy, and the tip of the knife even made a crisp sound against the edge of the porcelain plate — a mistake that should never occur for a "perfect toy".

"I'm sorry, Miss Makima... " Denji 's voice remained flat, but his speech was a beat slower than usual .

Denji with her overlapping, circular pupils . She reached out and grabbed Denji 's wrist, which was holding the knife. Her grip was light, yet it carried a chilling pressure capable of freezing the soul .

" Denji-kun , are you sick?" Her tone was still gentle, but the air inside the tower instantly dropped to freezing point.

Denji stared at Makima. Under the gaze of those round eyes, the " Reze " in his mind seemed to be pressed into an abyss by a giant hand . But just then, he remembered the fighting technique Reze had taught him— " Conceal your killing intent, fake your wounds."

He deliberately made his eyes look more vacant and let a trace of drool unconsciously drip from the corner of his mouth, like a completely broken piece of junk with loose parts.

" ... My head feels a bit heavy," Denji said slowly .

This is an extremely dangerous game. He is using "brain damage" as a cover, disguising the dullness caused by longing and resistance as a side effect of being over-dominated.

7. Leijie's " Gift"

Makima gazed at him for a long time, finally letting out a soft sigh. She stroked Yoji 's cheek and pulled him towards her knees.

"It seems the 'aftereffects' of that trip are deeper than I thought . Those distracting thoughts are still lingering in your nerve endings."

She thought it was just remnants of memory at work, but she never expected it to be the flames of war that Denji had deliberately ignited.

Denji obediently rested his head on Makima's knees. In reality, he appeared to be a completely broken shell; but in his mind, he was frantically replaying the last scene of Reze's battle — that posture of running towards the goal even though his whole body was broken .

"Hehe ... Miss Makima... " Denji chuckled inwardly.

That unnatural slowness was his first step in regaining control.

It's not illegal to imagine things in your head.

Practicing how to "kill happiness" in his mind was his final tribute to Reggie .

He was waiting. Waiting for the next taste of coffee, the next gust of wind, or the next explosion of fire in his mind. Until then, he would continue to play this "dull plaything," until he could precisely pull the fuse of the bomb demon buried deep within his soul. (...To be continued...)
